|In 2016 I took my first trip to the Netherlands to visit ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Amsterdam. My dad’s family is from Holland, so I had always wanted to visit the country, but an exhibition on the work of Heironymous Bosch was the main thing that made me book my tickets. I fell instantly in love with ‘s-Hertogenbosch, partly due to our lovely Airbnb host, but mostly because the city is full of history, interesting architecture and the lifestyle of the residents. We went in late winter, and there was a whole street full of restaurants and cafes with people sitting outside. It felt quiet but also had a lovely buzz about it.
We did very touristy things on this trip so I’m happy to have gotten them out of the way as I’d like to go back to the Netherlands, especially ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and just enjoy the Dutch culture for a little bit longer.
